Beyond The Classroom: Six Months of Co-Op at Digitas Health

Over the past six months, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of something that feels especially meaningful to me: the Drexel University co-op program at Digitas Health. As a third-year marketing student and student-athlete at Drexel, I’ve spent the past six months experiencing firsthand what it means to take what I’ve learned in the classroom and apply it to real-world work.

For me, co-op has always been one of the most exciting parts of the Drexel experience. Whether students complete one co-op over four years or three over five, the program gives us the chance to step outside the classroom, explore different career paths, and figure out what we enjoy along the way. For the past six months, I’ve been able to do exactly that as a Marketing Associate on the Marketing & Growth team at Digitas Health.

I wasn’t the only Drexel student starting this journey at DH. On March 30, 2026, six Drexel students joined the agency across a range of disciplines: Awo Afranie-Adjei, Associate Regulatory Operations; Deborah Cho, Associate Project Management; Mariah Cintron, Associate Engagement Strategy; Sanaa Rogers, Associate Regulatory Operations; Hang Le, Associate, Data Strategy; and me, Bea Buckley, Marketing Associate.

While we were all working on different teams and projects, we had one thing in common: we were learning what it’s really like to be part of a healthcare creative agency. From day one, we were given opportunities to contribute to meaningful work, learn from the people around us, and become part of the DH community.

Looking back on our six months, I asked my fellow co-ops to reflect on some of their favorite moments, biggest takeaways, and lessons they’ll carry with them into their careers.

Why should someone want to co-op at Digitas Health?

“DH will put you in one of the most collaborative and transparent environments you can imagine. It’s not just within your own team, but everyone at DH is truly a huge team player and is always willing to work with and help each other, sharing ideas and bringing out the best results.” — Hang Le, Associate, Data Strategy

“Someone should want to co-op at Digitas Health because of the amazing opportunities to learn and grow professionally while being a part of a very tight-knit community. The team truly invests in your development and encourages you to become the best version of yourself, both personally and professionally!” — Sanaa Rogers, Associate Regulatory Operations

What has been your favorite part of this co-op experience?

“My favorite part was definitely the people and getting to see projects go all the way from initial concepts to final launch. It was super rewarding to see everything come together after all the hard work behind the scenes.” — Deborah Cho, Associate Project Management

“My favorite part has been getting hands-on experience and learning from the people around me. I’ve enjoyed being able to work on different projects, learn new tools and processes, and see how the work I’m doing contributes to the team and the final product.” — Awo Afranie-Adjei, Associate Regulatory Operations

How has this co-op helped you grow professionally?

“Working on different accounts has helped me see how different teams work (Media, Creative, Accounts) and how their values, working styles, priorities and strategies can be different. Over time, I’ve started to recognize patterns and build skills that I can apply across different reports and carry with me into my future career.” — Hang Le, Associate, Data Strategy

“This co-op has helped me become much more confident and independent in a professional environment. I’ve learned how to manage my time, communicate effectively, take feedback and apply it, and adapt when things don’t go as planned. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to never be afraid to ask questions or over-communicate. It’s always better to ask for clarification than to make assumptions. Overall, I’ve become more comfortable trusting myself, taking initiative, and navigating challenges in a professional setting.” — Awo Afranie-Adjei, Associate Regulatory Operations

This experience has pushed me to become more confident in my ideas, more comfortable asking questions, and better at balancing multiple projects and deadlines. Most importantly, it has shown me how much there is still to learn.

As a Drexel student, I’m incredibly grateful that the co-op program gave me the opportunity to experience all of this before graduation. And as a member of the DH team, I’m even more grateful for the people who made these six months so memorable.

Six months of countless projects, and a lot of lessons later, I’m leaving this experience with more confidence, more clarity, and a whole lot of gratitude. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the best part of a co-op isn’t just the work you get to do, but it’s the people you get to do it with.
